Zach Miller
2022 Paralympian • 2x World Champion • 2023 ESPY Winner
Zach Miller’s journey started long before the start gate. Born with cerebral palsy and diagnosed at just six months old, he grew up hearing what he wouldn’t be able to do. So, he’s spent his life proving what’s possible. From the start, his competitive spirit burned bright. Even as a child, Zach’s competitive spirit was undeniable. “My doctors told my parents, ‘You’ve got to get this kid in more sports.’”
By age eight, Zach discovered snowboarding, and soon after, the thrill of snowboard cross. He’s since risen to the world stage as a member of the U.S. Para Snowboard Team, competing in banked slalom and snowboard cross at the 2022 Paralympic Games, earning six podiums and two golds at the World Championships.
Miller was awarded the 2023 “Best Athlete with a Disability” ESPY, but what defines him most isn’t the accolades—it’s the people. “Community has been a major part of my whole story,” he says. Mentors, teammates, and supporters shaped his path, and now he’s determined to do the same for the next generation. Through Back The Team, Zach is opening the door to young athletes who want to build confidence, push limits, and embrace the truth he’s lived: no one succeeds alone.
