TESS JOHNSON
-
Tess Johnson is defined by resilience and joy. Growing up in Vail, she was named to the U.S. Ski Team at just 14, the youngest mogul skier ever to earn that honor. By 17, she was on the start line at the PyeongChang Olympics. Since then, she’s captured World Championship medals and World Cup podiums, and in 2025 claimed her first World Cup victory after seven years of grinding setbacks and comebacks.
What makes Tess stand out is her mentality. She competes with a smile — not because it’s easy, but because she’s learned to embrace pressure, bounce back from disappointment, and keep perspective. That joy fuels her persistence and inspires everyone around her. Now, as she trains toward Milano Cortina 2026, Tess is ready to show you how to turn challenges into confidence and setbacks into strength.
-
My favorite quote is very simple: “Believe.” When I was 9, the same year I started mogul skiing, I got this word customized on a pair of rainbow colored converse that I wore into the ground! Ever since then, it’s been the word/quote that I say to myself and write in my journal nearly everyday because believing in myself has been the most important thing through thick and thin!
PRISCILLA LOOMIS FREDERICK
-
From a single-parent household to the Olympic stage, Priscilla embodies resilience and drive. She knows what it means to chase a dream—and reach it. After falling just short of her goals in the 2012 Olympic Trials, her persistence and grit propelled her to the Rio stage, where she competed in the 2016 Olympic Games in high jump. She's a 3-time Hall of Fame inductee and 2-time Female Athlete of the Year.
Beyond the track, she runs two successful businesses, founded a nonprofit, and is a motivational speaker featured in The New York Times, Disney+, CNN, ESPN, and more.

NICK PAGE
-
Nick Page is defined by ambition and fearlessness. At 19, he placed 5th at the Beijing Olympics, becoming the youngest U.S. male mogul skier to final in over a decade. A U.S. National Champion, three-time World Championship competitor, and World Cup champion, he ended the longest drought in U.S. men’s moguls history—defeating two Olympic gold medalists along the way.
Now ranked 3rd in World Cup standings, Nick is all-in on training for Milano Cortina 2026. His drive, resilience, and relentless pursuit of excellence make him one of skiing’s most exciting stars. This month, he’s ready to help you find that same fire within yourself.

Back The Team
Our mission is to connect the next generation of young athletes with Olympic and Paralympic role models—developing the whole athlete through mindset, resilience, and leadership that extends far beyond sport.
-
We partner with Olympians and Paralympians across sports such as rowing, hockey, rugby, track, and more. Each athlete is carefully vetted through a personal application and interview process, where they share defining growth moments, guiding philosophies, and the lessons they hope to pass on to the next generation. These role models deliver world-class mentorship and mindset training to young athletes, offering unique perspective and connection. By backing the team, you’re also backing the athletes themselves—providing meaningful financial support as they continue training toward the next Olympic Games.
-
We’ve brought Olympic mentorship to athletes across the U.S. and Canada—with both students and parents reporting increased motivation and confidence. We’ve also partnered with leading teams and athletic clubs for our cohorts: including the Northstar Team, Holderness School, VA House of Speed, New York Ski Education Foundation, and Waterville Valley Academy. Coaches note that while their own guidance is valuable, hearing the same lessons from Olympians—who have lived them at the highest level—carries a unique weight.
-
Born at the Harvard Innovation Labs, this program blends the science of performance with the heart of mentorship. In partnership with U.S. National Governing Bodies, athletic directors, and educational leaders, we’re bringing world-class Olympic mentorship into schools, clubs, and communities. The result: a generation of athletes who train harder, dream bigger, and carry lessons that last far beyond sport.

TESTIMONIALS
Student-Athlete
“I want to prove to myself that I can be great regardless of all the obstacles. I believe that becoming a better athlete means learning from those who have achieved and exceeded the same goals I have. I want to develop an Olympian's mindset this month.”
Coach
“I played D1 football and there was nothing like this when I was coming up. You can say things as a coach and parent but it’s different hearing them from someone else who’s actually been there. It’s really special. Thank you so much for what you’re doing.”
Parent
“Thanks so much for all the lovely support and what a wonderful program you've created. My daughter enjoyed last night a lot and she will no doubt continue to be engaged! She could always do with a little more self-belief!”
FAQs
-
Athletics are one of the most powerful classrooms: research shows student-athletes have higher GPAs, stronger attendance, and are more likely to pursue leadership roles. Yet studies also find that nearly 40% of high school athletes report lacking consistent mentorship, and only 1 in 4 programs provide structured mental skills training. At the same time, consistent micro-goals, like daily wellness challenges, are proven to increase long-term habit retention by over 60%. That’s why our cohorts pair weekly live mentorship sessions with Olympians with daily touch points, challenges, and behind-the-scenes video updates. By weaving evidence-based practices into the rhythm of training, we help coaches reinforce resilience, build team culture, and keep athletes motivated all season long.
-
We welcome athletes under the age of 19 from any sport and from all across the U.S. While each Olympian brings expertise in a specific discipline, their lessons on grit, motivation, and resilience apply to athletes of every background. All that’s required is excitement, commitment, and a readiness to grow.
Note: Athletes under 13 will need a parent or guardian’s permission and assistance to set up their account on our group messaging platform.
-
Nope! The program is designed for you to train with whatever resources you already have—whether that’s a full gym, a track, or just your living room. Research shows it takes about 66 days to build a habit, and our focus is helping you create lasting habits that stick, no matter where you train.
-
Our programming—developed with nationally certified group fitness instructors, mindset coaches, and insights from the Harvard Department of Psychology—equips athletes to grow stronger on and off the field. It doesn’t replace coaching; it amplifies it by building consistency, better habits, and a mental edge through Olympian mentorship. The Back The Team focus is on the holistic athlete.
Note: For private cohorts, programming can also be personalized to meet the specific needs of a team and/or school.
-
Yes! Every cohort includes live mentorship sessions with your Olympian where you’ll have the chance to ask questions directly and learn from their journey in real time. Beyond that, Olympians share regular video updates inside the group, and you can respond with your own questions or reflections.
-
The time commitment is light—just 5–10 minutes a day. It’s a supplement to the training you already do. Daily touchpoints are designed to fit seamlessly into your routine while making you even stronger, more consistent, and more focused.
-
Yes, this group is private and moderated, and all members must agree to clear community guidelines. We focus on keeping the community positive, respectful, and growth-oriented so all athletes can thrive.
